Lookbook Photography

Photographic storytelling of collections, between creative direction and visual narrative

Lookbook — Collection

Lookbook

Every season, fashion brands present their collections to buyers, showrooms and platforms that decide what will reach the shelves the following season. In that context, lookbook images aren't a sales aid: they're the first filter. If the images don't convince, the buyer never walks into the showroom.

Lookbook — Rhythm

B2B Photography

I developed my approach to lookbooks working with brands that present their collections in different contexts, from the private showroom to the international trade fair. The difference between a lookbook that works and one that doesn't is measured in orders, not likes. That taught me to work with rigor on the relationship between garment and setting, on light consistency from one shot to the next, on a final selection of images that builds a coherent rhythm.

Catalogs and Collections

I work with S/S and A/W collections, capsule collections, limited drops and accessory lines. Every project is structured around its main distribution channel: a lookbook for a showroom has different needs from one built for digital wholesale buyers, and different again from one meant for press presentation. Trade fairs are key dates on the calendar of anyone producing a lookbook. I know how to organize photo production around those dates, with the right timing and formats for each context.

Creative Process

01

Briefing

Understanding the project before picking up the camera. Goals, target, distribution channels, budget: everything on the table from the start.

02

Photo Shoot

Location, casting, styling, light. Every element is planned. On set the plan gets executed, with room to improve it, not to improvise it.

03

Post-Production

Shot selection, retouching, color correction. Done in-house with defined standards. Visual consistency across the whole campaign.

04

Delivery

Files optimized for every usage channel: web, print, social. Formats and resolutions agreed during the briefing.

Lookbooks built for the showroom and buyer system

The most structured fashion markets run on appointments with international buyers, often without them knowing the brand or the context it came from. For these markets, lookbook images need to be produced with a precise logic, understandable even to someone seeing the brand for the first time.

I've shot lookbooks for brands bringing their collections to a trade fair for the first time, and for established labels updating their visual language. In both cases the starting question is the same: does the buyer looking at these images immediately understand who you are? If the answer isn't an unhesitating yes, there's still work to do.
